Janusz affinity with Light expanded over twenty years. He cultivates a classic approach to light as exercised by masters of Painting, Cinematography, and Photography. Cinematic Mood and expression of emotion are his favorite aspects of Cinematic Expression. He received the Gold Plaque Award for Cinematography at the Chicago International Film Festival. He has filmed in the extreme conditions of the North Pole, the Arabian Desert, and the Persian Golf. Janus designed and teaches a method of lighting based on previsualization. He designed Light for Television and Theater. He intermittently teaches Cinematography at the USC, Spectra Cine, UCLA, and conducts film workshops in the USA and Europe.
