USC Cinematic Arts – Film Lighting

Cinematic Expression. Fundamentals of Film Lighting – Lighting Style, Lighting Mood and Exposure.
On-Stage Film Scene Lighting requires creating all film lighting elements from scratch. There is a lighting logic to be followed where the first element to address is the Ambiance. The level of the Ambiance is the main element of the Mood to be created. The Mood and Style in film lighting are supported by the Key Light direction and intensity. We always light for the pre-established lens f-stop which doesn’t change through out the scene.
